Due to my hubby's stroke the deadline has been extended to July 4, 2016. Also, you may submit previously published material as long as you have the rights to your work.

I am excited to announce that the Church of Christ Women Authors Blog is now taking submissions for its inaugural anthology titled, The Church of Christ Women Authors Blog 2016 Anthology of Literary Potpourri.

To my knowledge this will be the first book of its kind, and I am so glad that it's actually happening. Because we are still small, the only payment contributors will receive for inclusion in this years anthology is two print copies of the published anthology.

Submission is open to all members of the church of Christ. I am looking for submissions in several categories and all genres of fiction are welcome. Please include a short bio of no more than 300 words with your submission to be included in the anthology.

The anthology will be available to purchase in print and in Ebook form.

Submission Details:

Submission is open January 1, 2016 through May 4, 2016. Those with works included will be notified by email.

Please send your submissions to the Church of Christ Women Authors at churchofchristwomenauthors@gmail.com, and write Anthology Submission in the subject line of the email.

Submissions may be sent in the body of the email, or as a .doc attachment. Please include the genre and category of your piece. Please only submit one time per category.

All authors who are included in the anthology grant first publication rights to Susan Elliott, of the Church of Christ Women Authors Blog for publication in the anthology The Church of Christ Women Authors Blog 2016 Anthology of Literary Potpourri. Rights return to the author after publication.

No simultaneous submissions accepted.

    1. I know that feeling. You can do it! I often find these word limitations a challenge, but I am always excited when I can actually meet the word limits.

  3. I'm just checking to make sure I understand. We can submit works in a variety of categories, but only once per category. Is that correct?

    1. Yes. Once per category. I'm sorry that it's taken me so long to reply. I don't know if you saw, but my hubby had a stroke on New Year's Day and I have been running all day every day. I look forward to seeing what you send!

  5. Hi Susan,

I tried contacting you via email, but apparently my message didn't go through. I have a story I wrote years ago that won first place in a short story competition and appeared in the Affaire de Coeur magazine in 2004. I have their permission to reprint it. Also, I have an article that was originally published in Christian Woman Magazine, and they also have given me permission to reprint it.

Would I be allowed to submit these for the anthology book?

    Blessings,

    Sandi

  6. Susan, I tried contacting you via email but got no reply. I was wondering if I could submit a piece that was previous published in a magazine? I do have permission from the magazine to publish it.
